 SUMMER 2008 PREVIEW SPECIAL!

 

Butterworth Explorer Day Camp allows girls to experience the outdoors yet return to the comforts of home each evening.  If your child is experiencing camp for the first time this is perfect!  Girls attend camp Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  This opportunity is designed for girls entering the 1st – 4th grade in the fall of 2008.

Mom and Me is a one night program for girls and their favorite female adult (who is at least 21 years of age).  Participants will enjoy this special time at Camp Butterworth or Camp Stonybrook.  Activities will be chosen upon arrival and include swimming, arts and crafts, nature, games, etc.

Troop Adventure Camp is a camping experience you can have as a troop with activities lead by Senior Girl Scout Program Assistants.  Spend three nights at Camp Stonybrook, before you arrive you’ll plan your adventure by choosing activities such as; swimming, arts and crafts, nature, creeking, stargazing, archery, low ropes or more!   

Brownie and Junior Mini Sessions are two and three night sessions for inexperienced campers who are ready to try out resident camp.  Girls sleep in platform tents by night and enjoy all the fun things of camp by day.  These sessions have different themes to please any camper.
Resident Camp is a weeklong camp experience at Camp Butterworth.  Girls arrive at camp on Sunday afternoon and leave on Friday in the early evening.  Girls attending resident camp have a variety of camp programs to choose from.  Girls can focus on arts and crafts, mystery, water/swimming, archery and much much more.  Older girls can attend Pre-Adventure or High Adventure camp programs which leave camp activities such as rock climbing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, caving and more.

Horizons , Girl Scouts - Great Rivers Council camp magazine, is mailed to every registered girl in January.  Inside this magazine you’ll find general camp information as well as all the information already mentioned.
